Bayern push again for Luis Diaz and Woltemade after failed bids

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany

    Key Takeaways:

  • Liverpool rejected Bayern’s €67.5M bid for Diaz, but talks continue
  • Personal terms agreed for 4-year deal with €14M annual salary
  • Stuttgart snubbed €55M offer for Woltemade

Bayern Munich continue their efforts to strengthen their attack with Liverpool winger Luis Diaz and Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade on the club’s shortlist. Head coach Vincent Kompany is left with very few offensive options following the departures of Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane, as well as the serious injury suffered by Jamal Musiala.

So far, Bayern have hit a wall in their pursuit of both transfer targets, but the club is not giving up. Talks with Liverpool are ongoing. Despite the Merseyside club having already rejected two bids for the 28-year-old Colombian, the latest being €67.5 million, new meetings between the two clubs are expected soon, where Bayern hope to finally make a breakthrough.

Diaz himself is keen on a move to Munich and has already agreed personal terms. He is set to sign a four-year contract running until 2029, earning around €14 million gross per year. His salary could increase depending on performance-based incentives.

Meanwhile, the agent of Nick Woltemade, Dani Bachmann, criticised Stuttgart’s stance on the player. The representative of the 23-year-old striker stated: “When a Bundesliga record offer of €55 million is not enough to even secure a personal meeting, one has to ask what Stuttgart actually considers ‘exceptional’. This couldn’t have been anticipated.”

Stuttgart rejected Bayern’s €55 million bid, but the expectation is that the Munich club will soon submit a new offer exceeding €60 million including potential bonuses.
