Joao Mario is a product of Porto’s academy. Last season, he made 42 appearances and registered 7 assists. The 25-year-old right-back can also play in more advanced positions in midfield or as part of an attacking trio.
As part of the double deal, Alberto Costa joins Porto in a separate transfer worth €16 million. This represents a profit for Juventus, considering he was bought from Vitoria Guimaraes for €12.5 million in January. Alberto Costa played a total of 14 matches for the Bianconeri during the second half of last season.
The two teams recently completed another deal, with Juventus permanently acquiring the rights to Francisco Conceicao following a one-season loan spell in Turin.
