Talks between Newcastle United and Liverpool regarding the transfer of Alexander Isak are progressing at a rapid pace. Earlier today Liverpool opened formal negotiations with Newcastle and submitted an opening bid. The Magpies rejected the proposal, but there are no talks over a new contract for Isak, and the striker remains determined to join Liverpool. The Merseyside club plan to return with a new bid and continue to push for the deal.

The Swedish striker has already reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool on a long-term contract that would run until the summer of 2031. The personal terms are fully clarified, and the player is motivated to take the next step in his career, believing he can win both the Premier League and the Champions League with the Reds.

Although he respects Newcastle and appreciates his time at St James’ Park, Isak believes the moment has come for a new challenge. The striker has clearly expressed his desire to move to Liverpool, and the club from Anfield has already taken official steps.

According to a source close to Liverpool, the Reds initially intended to offer £60 million as an upfront payment, with another £60 million to be paid next year. The total amount could reach £140 million with included bonuses, while the guaranteed part would be at least £120 million.
