Bayer Leverkusen have officially announced the extension of striker Patrik Schick’s contract. The 29-year-old Czech goalscorer has extended his deal until 2030, with his previous contract running until 2027.

In 168 matches so far for the Werkself, the 191 cm tall Schick has scored 81 goals and provided 12 assists since joining from Roma in 2020. Last season, he featured in 45 games, scoring 27 goals and registering 1 assist, making him the top scorer for the team.

The extension of Schick’s contract is good news for Bayer Leverkusen fans and new head coach Erik ten Hag, especially against the backdrop of many key players leaving the club this summer. Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah and Granit Xhaka have all departed, while veteran goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky is also close to a transfer to Monaco.
