Wolves Welcome a Rapid Addition to Their Ranks

Wolves have made a significant addition to their defensive options by acquiring Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona. The Belgium-born right-wing-back arrives at Molineux after signing a five-year contract that also includes an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

Tchatchoua, who represents Cameroon at international level, brings valuable experience from two seasons in Italy’s top flight. Notably, he was recognised as Serie A’s fastest player last campaign, having clocked a top speed of 36.3km/h.

Early Career and International Development

The 23-year-old began his professional journey with Charleroi in Belgium, making his senior debut four years ago as a teenager. Operating primarily as a wing-back, he demonstrated his attacking instincts early, regularly contributing assists during his time in Belgium.

His first professional goal was scored away to Genk, followed by a second from the opposite flank against RFC Seraing, highlighting not just his speed, but also his adaptability on both sides of the pitch.

Tchatchoua declared his eligibility for Cameroon in his second campaign at Charleroi and soon joined the nation’s U23 setup. He made his senior international debut for Cameroon in a World Cup qualifying encounter against Cape Verde in June 2024, by which time he was playing for Hellas Verona.

Impressing in Serie A and the International Stage

The wing-back initially joined Hellas Verona on loan, where he announced his arrival with an assist on debut against Frosinone. His performances against Italy’s top clubs earned him a permanent contract at the Serie A side.

Tchatchoua was a regular fixture for both club and country last season, accumulating a total of 43 appearances as Verona secured their Serie A survival and Cameroon qualified for December’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The dynamic defender concluded the season with two goals and three assists. His final contribution for Hellas Verona came in May, providing an assist in his last Serie A appearance before sealing his switch to Molineux.
