Textor’s Ambitious Wolves Proposal Rejected

Former Crystal Palace owner John Textor has made headlines with a fresh attempt to return to English football, submitting a substantial takeover bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers. This move comes three months after Textor sold his stake in Crystal Palace to New York Jets chief Woody Johnson. That decision followed a UEFA ruling prohibiting both Palace and Textor’s French club Lyon from competing in the same European competition, resulting in Palace’s demotion to the Conference League despite attempts to resolve the issue before a final verdict.

However, Textor’s approach to Wolves did not go through official channels, as he had not initiated formal discussions with the club’s current ownership group, Fosun. Consequently, club executives have reportedly rebuffed his bid and are unwilling to enter negotiations for a potential sale.
