European football’s governing body, UEFA, announced today that Munich’s Allianz Arena and Barcelona’s Camp Nou will serve as the stage for the Champions League finals in 2028 and 2029, respectively.

Return to Historic European Stadiums

The Allianz Arena will play host to its third Champions League final in 2028. Previously, the Munich stadium was the backdrop for Chelsea’s dramatic penalty shootout victory over Bayern Munich in 2012, and Paris Saint-Germain’s first-ever Champions League title in 2025.

Camp Nou, the iconic Barcelona ground, is set to welcome Europe’s premier club competition’s final in 2029. This occasion will be the third time Camp Nou features as host, with the most recent being in 1999. Back then, Manchester United memorably overturned a deficit in stoppage time to defeat Bayern Munich 2-1 in a legendary final.

Notably, the 2029 final comes just one year prior to Spain’s role as co-host of the 2030 World Cup alongside Portugal and Morocco.
