Ekitike is scheduled to arrive in Liverpool on Tuesday in order to complete the mandatory medical examinations. Once those are finalised and the deal is made official, the forward will travel to Hong Kong to join his new team, which is currently holding pre-season training in Asia.
The Frenchman’s contract with Liverpool will run for six seasons. Last month, Newcastle made an effort to sign the 23-year-old attacker by offering £70 million, but their bid was turned down. Ekitike recorded 15 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches for Eintracht Frankfurt last season.
