Both clubs have already confirmed they reached an agreement for Pubill’s transfer to Atletico. The deal will become official once the player passes the mandatory medical examinations.
Almeria will receive €16 million for the wide defender. An additional €4 million is included as performance-based bonuses, and the Andalusian side will retain 15% of any future sale of Pubill. The player signed a contract until 2030.
Last season, Marc Pubill featured in 36 league matches, registering 1 goal and 4 assists. However, Almeria failed to achieve promotion to La Liga.
The full-back becomes the fifth summer acquisition for Atletico after the arrivals of Thiago Almada, Johnny Cardoso, Alex Baena, and Matteo Ruggeri. All five players are under the age of 25. Very soon, the club are expected to strengthen further with the addition of Chelsea midfielder Renato Veiga.
