Real Madrid showed they are ready for the new season. Xabi Alonso’s team thrashed WSG Tirol 4-0 in a friendly match played in Austria yesterday. Eder Militao scored early in the game, Kylian Mbappe netted his first two goals wearing the number 10 shirt, and Rodrygo added another towards the end.

Alonso fielded a strong line-up, with Mbappe, Vinicius, and Brahim Diaz leading the attack. Rodrygo started on the bench, fuelling speculation that he could leave. In defence, Militao started for the first time since recovering from a serious injury. Around him were three of the new signings – Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, and Alvaro Carreras, who delivered an impressive performance on his debut with the white shirt.

Eder Militao opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a header, and moments later Mbappe doubled the lead with a fine strike. The Frenchman received the ball from Arda Guler, turned, and fired into the net. Mbappe struck again after an hour of play, set up by Aurelien Tchouameni. After the third goal, Alonso made a series of substitutions, with Rodrygo coming on for Vinicius. Mbappe remained on the pitch until the 83rd minute, and shortly before being replaced, he provided the assist for Rodrygo’s goal.
