Jose Mourinhno denies any contact with Brazil

Jose Mourinho has come out publicly to deny any contact with Brazil’s federation. That comes just few days after Carlo Ancelotti extended his contract with Real Madrid, as the Italian was touted as the leading candidate to take the Selecao’s managerial position.

Last night, on 3rd of January, Mourinho’s Roma defeated Serie B side Cremonese 2:1 in a Coppa Italia. The victory ensured their passage to the quarter finals of the competition where Roma will meet their cross-town rivals Lazio. In Serie A, the team finds itself in 7th position just outside of the places providing European competitions next season.

Throughout his career Jose Mourinho has never managed a national team. Many years ago, he expressed that he didn’t favor such a job because he couldn’t be involved with the team on a daily basis, and that’s why he prefers working with clubs. Now in the latter stage of his career, Mourinho might be tempted to take the wheel of the Brazil team. The appeal of competing for a World Cup can prove too strong even for the Special One, but by his own words no contact has been made yet.
