Deco confirms: Barcelona is not negotiating with Klopp, Guardiola, Arteta, or any other manager

During a conversation on a popular Spanish radio show, Barcelona director Deco addressed speculation surrounding the club’s search for a new head coach. ‘Obviously, you can appreciate top managers like Guardiola, Klopp, and Arteta, but they’re not available’ Deco stated, setting the record straight on the club’s stance regarding potential managerial candidates. ‘There’s no talk at all with them, and it’s pointless to mention them. We’re not speaking to any manager.’

Deco, granted absolute authority over decision-making and new signings at Barcelona, emphasized the independence of the club’s search process, marking a significant shift in the approach to the appointment of Xavi’s successor. His remarks followed comments by another former Barcelona player, Gerard Pique, who named Guardiola and Arteta as ideal candidates, acknowledging their deep understanding of the club’s philosophy.

Barcelona presently sits in 2nd position in LaLiga standings, eight points behind rivals Real Madrid, and preparing for a crucial Champions League quarter-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain in April.
