Feyenoord delivers historic 6:0 trashing of Ajax in Eredivisie

Feyenoord handed Ajax their worst league defeat, destroying them with the score of 6:0 on Sunday in a match of Eredivisie’s 29th round. The Rotherdam-based outfit goals were scored by Igor Paixao (34′, 67′), Yankuba Minteh (36′, 56′), David Hancko (45′), and Quinten Timber (62′). As evident by the scoreline, Feyenoord enjoyed a total domination from start to finish, further highlighted by the fact that they had 30 attempts on the opposition’s goal, while Ajax ended the match with only 1 shot.

This marks a histotic achievement for Feyenoord and represents their biggest win in De Klassieker. They have now scored 10 and not conceded a single goal to Ajax in the two league games this season, as Feyenoord triumphed 0:4 away at Johan Cruijff Arena earlier in the season. On top of that, the 6:0 league loss is the biggest for Ajax for the previous 74 years.

Feyenoord are now on a run of 15 straight meetings without losing, and on a five game winning streak. The team remain in 2nd place in the standings, 9 points behind the leaders from PSV. Ajax, on the other hand, allowed 1st loss in five outings and is currently in 6th position in the table with 45 points, 33 less than PSV.
