Knicks president Leon Rose continues to strengthen the team this summer by adding Mikal Bridges, retaining free agent OG Anunoby, and securing extensions for both Jalen Brunson and Thibodeau. Under Thibodeau’s guidance, the Knicks were one of only four teams to rank in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency last season, alongside Boston, Oklahoma City, and Denver.
Earlier this summer, Knicks star Jalen Brunson made a significant financial sacrifice to provide roster flexibility for the team. Brunson agreed to a four-year, $156.5 million extension, which is $113 million less than he would have been eligible to receive next year, according to his agent Sam Rose of CAA.
