Booker and Wembanyama shine in Suns and Spurs wins

The Phoenix Suns pulled off an impressive comeback victory over the Los Angeles Clippers with a 106-88 win, overcoming a 21-point deficit in the third quarter. Devin Booker led the charge with a season-high 40 points, providing the spark the Suns needed. Royce O’Neale came off the bench to add 21 points, including a key three-pointer in the final minutes, while Kevin Durant delivered a solid 18 points. Rookie Ryan Dunn continued to show promise in just his second career start, contributing 16 points. Jusuf Nurkic rounded out the balanced attack with 11 points, anchoring Phoenix’s defense and adding to the Suns’ 15 straight made shots at the start of the second half.

Despite James Harden’s triple-double of 25 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, the Clippers struggled, falling to 0-3 at their new Intuit Dome. The Beard has now surpassed 26,000 career points, becoming only the 4th guard with such an accomplishement, joining the elite company of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Oscar Robertson. Ivica Zubac’s double-double (22 points and 12 rebounds) and Norman Powell’s 23 points off the bench were not enough to stop the Suns, who now extend their winning streak to three games, solidifying their status as early contenders.

In other NBA game the San Antonio Spurs secured a commanding 106-88 win over the Utah Jazz, with their young star Victor Wembanyama delivering a standout 5×5 performance. Wembanyama recorded 25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, five blocks, and five steals, showcasing his all-around talent and defensive prowess. Veteran Chris Paul contributed significantly as well, scoring 19 points along with 10 assists and seven rebounds, further strengthening the Spurs’ playmaking efforts. The Jazz struggled in Markkanen’s absence, with Collin Sexton leading Utah’s efforts with 16 points.
