Liverpool's Anfield Stadium

    Key Takeaways:

  • Florian Wirtz received the number 7 shirt at Liverpool following Luis Diaz’s departure
  • Liverpool will wear Adidas kits starting this season under a new multi-million deal
  • The club expects record-breaking sales with the release of the new official kit

Liverpool announced the shirt numbers their new signings will use in the new season. Until now, they had played in friendlies wearing numbers between 50 and 59.

Record signing Florian Wirtz receives the number 7 shirt, previously worn by Colombian Luis Diaz. He vacated it after leaving for Bayern Munich. Jeremie Frimpong, who also joined from Bayer Leverkusen, will wear number 30. Fellow full-back signing Milos Kerkez has been assigned number 6.

New attacking acquisition Hugo Ekitike takes number 22, while goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will wear number 25. Freddie Woodman will play with number 28, and Armin Peksi with 41. Conor Bradley and Trey Nyoni also receive new numbers: 12 and 42, respectively.

The club will present its new kit at noon today. The Reds have switched kit supplier and will now wear Adidas starting this season.

The multi-million contract between the two parties comes into force today. For that reason, the Reds conducted most of their summer preparations in last season’s kit. Expectations are high that the new kit, released for official sale today, will break all club records.
